Hoy volvemos a la carga con una nueva entrevista internacional que nos permite conocer un poco más acerca de un artista que ha nacido y crecido en la capital del Techno: Berlín. El alemán MOSHA es nuestro protagonista de hoy, siendo un dj y productor que entiende su vida sólo a través de la música, el medio de canalizar y de interconexión más puro y especial que existe. En clave Techno, con ciertos toques melódicos y Deep House, Mosha ha construido una carrera eficaz que dibuja un amplio arco que va desde inicios de siglo hasta la actualidad, mostrando una evolución y adaptación que le ha perMitido construir su propio sonido.
Gracias a esta entrevista hemos podido conocer un poco más sobre cómo se encuentra su carrera actualmente, en qué está trabajando y qué objetivos tiene a futuro, así como en temas muy interesantes como la situación del Techno en la actualidad, la comparativa Alemania-España en el marco electrónico y cómo ve su evolución a través de los años. Sin duda, una gran oportunidad para descubrir a MOSHA y ver qué se esconde tras la faceta de artista de un modo muy especial, con reflexiones muy interesantes y con la voz de la experiencia hablando de forma sincera.

Hola… es un placer trabajar contigo.
El año 2023 es especial para mi… porque encontré un nuevo socio en PR (LMPR Agency) después de estar trabajando con un sello de Detroit. ¡Fue una pena que tras la pandemia el sello dejara de existir!, pero lamentablemente a veces es así.
¡El año 2023 también está siendo bueno musicalmente! Después de algunos Dj Sets en radio y algunas entrevistas, puedo empezar el próximo año con optimismo. Por supuesto también estoy planteando algunas cosas fuera de Alemania.

The year 2023 is special for me… because I have found a new partner in PR (LMPR Agency).
After working with a label from Detroit, it was a shame after the pandemic that the label no longer exists! But unfortunately that’s how it is sometimes! The year 2023 was also good musically! After a few DJ sets on the radio and a few interviews, I can start the next year optimistically. Of course I’m also planning some things outside of Germany.

¿Cómo se presentan los próximos meses en cuanto a lanzamientos y shows?
Oh.. ¡sí, hay novedades!
Estoy en contacto con el sello independiente ‘S7 Records’ de Melbourne (Australia), fundado en 2020: ¡es un sello muy joven!. Lo que me parece muy interesante es que no está orientado a lo convencional y se centra en nuevas ideas. Yo describiría al estilo musical como Techno Hipnótico y de vanguardia.

Actualmente estamos trabajando juntos en varias canciones y también podemos colaborar con otros artistas. Lo que también me parece muy bueno, a pesar de la distancia, es que hay un intercambio regular de información y hablamos de todos los próximos pasas. ¡Creo que eso es algo muy bueno y que demuestra que el sello también se preocupa por el artista!
Los shows también son algo importante. Por supuesto, siempre estoy trabajando en nuevos shows o programas de radio. Eso es parte del negocio, pero es muy divertido trabajar con los diferentes departamentos.
How do the next few months look like in terms of releases and shows?
Oh,… yes there is news here too!
I am in contact with the independent label “S7 Records” from Melbourne (Australia), which was founded in 2020. So a very young label! What I find very exciting is that it is not mainstream-oriented and focuses on new ideas! I would describe the music style as hypnotic and avant-garde techno music.

We are currently working on several songs together and may also collaborate with other artists. What I also think is very good, despite the distance there is a regular information exchange and we talk about all the next steps! Tu trayectoria musical inicia sobre comienzos de la década de 2000. ¿Qué diferencia hay entre el Mosha de entonces y el actual?
La diferencia son 23 años… ¡solo bromeo!. Por supuesto, es un largo tiempo.
El principio (alrededor del año 2000) fue salvaje y ¡sólo por diversión! Para nosotros simplemente era probar otras cosas y experimentar con la música. ¡Los primeros eventos eran ruidosos y rápidos! Y como con cualquier cosa de la vida, querías tener más cosas que te gustaran, así que salías de fiesta y absorbías más el sentimiento Underground. Eso nos llevó a querer aún más, así que empezamos a hacer música nosotros mismos e incluso a organizar nuestros propios eventos. ¡Y así fuimos paso a paso!. Fue un tiempo de aprendizaje: del »¿cómo construyo mis propias instalaciones?» al »¿cómo organizo mi propio evento?», para que después aparezcan otros temas como »logística de un bar» o »seguridad», continuando con »show de luces» y algo como »servicio de invierno». Te enseñabas mucho a ti mismo y se aprendía mucho, pero siempre era complicado, aunque había muchos amigos que ayudaban.
Pero todo aquel que se inicia en la industria musical toma un camino diferente. Más tarde me involucré en cómo tocar un set en vivo y producir mi propio sonido, otros eran más activos como dj…. ¡Así es como cada uno se construye su propia historia!. Para mí, esto me llevó a trabajar inicialmente con una caja de ritmos y un sintetizador. De ahí surgieron los primeros ritmos y sonidos. Más tarde se volvió más digital y me involucré en la producción de canciones terminadas. Eso fue otro cambio; un cambio en los ritmos y sonidos producidos desde el Live-Set hasta el arreglo de canciones ya terminadas. Por supuesto, un cambio en el panorama musical siempre juega un papel. Yo lo llamaría desarrollo.
Desde la perspectiva actual, me gusta probar cosas nuevas. Las colaboraciones con otros artistas me parecen muy emocionantes y tienen un valor inspirador para mi también. Es una forma muy diferente de trabajar cuando rediseño una pista o creo una remezcla con el sonido terminado.
Por tanto, si tuviera que compararme con antes, diría que solía ser desestructurado y bueno, tal vez un poco errático. Hoy tengo mi propia estructura de trabajo a la hora de producir. Cuando se trata de pinchar (actualmente) y actuar en vivo (en el pasado), diría que hoy es más moderno y más lento. Pero lo que también es diferente es el tiempo de actuación. Creo que el show en vivo duraba entre 1 o 2 horas, ¡ahora prefiero hacer dj sets de 4 horas!
De vez en cuando es realmente una ventaja mirar proyectos anteriores. A veces me siento en el estudio y escucho algunas pistas antiguas y simplemente pienso, »oh, puedo rediseñar de nuevo, ¡será genial!». Eso también es divertido, ¡A veces te sorprendes tú mismo!
Your musical career started around the beginning of the 2000s. What is the difference between the Mosha o them and the current one?
The difference is 23 years… just kidding. Of course that’s a long time!
The beginning (around 2000) was wild and just for fun! For us it was simply about trying things out and experiencing the music. The first events were loud and fast! And as with everything in life, you wanted to have more of the things you liked… So you went out partying hard and absorbed more of the underground feeling. That led to us wanting even more, so we started making Music ourselves or even organizing our own events! and so we did step by step! It was a time of learning… from «How do I build my own facility» to «How do I organize my own event», then there are other topics like «Logistics of a bar» or «Safety». Continue with “light show” or something like “winter service”. You taught yourself and learned a lot! But that was always discussed and we have many friends who helped!
But everyone who starts out in the music industry takes a different path. later i got involved how to create to play a live-set and producing of own Sound. others were more active as DJs. And so everyone has built their own story!
For me it led to me initially working with a drum computer and synthesizer… this is where the first beats and sounds came from. Later it became more digital and more was involved in producing finished songs. That was another change. A change in the produced beats and sounds from the liv-set to the arrangement of finished songs! Of course, a change in the musical landscape always played a role here! I would call it a development! From today’s perspective, I like trying new things. I find collaborations with other artists very exciting and have an inspiring value for me too! It’s a very different way of working when I redesign a track or create a remix with the finished sound!
So if I were to compare myself to before, I would say that I used to be unstructured and, well, maybe a little erratic. Today I have my own structure at work when it comes to producing. When it comes to DJing today and yesterday’s live act… I would say it’s more modern and slower today, but what’s also different is the game time! I think the live act lasted 1-2 hours,… today I prefer to play a 4 hour DJ set!
It is sometimes really an advantage to sometimes look at past projects. Because sometimes I sit in. Studio and listens to some old tracks and just thinks…. Ohhh I can redesign that again, it’ll be cool! That’s fun too. You’ll sometimes be surprised yourself!

¿Quiénes son tus mayores referentes musicales?
Creo que debo irme a cuanto empecé a pinchar. Siempre me interesé por el sonido Techno de Detroit. Como anécdota, precisamente trabajé con un sello de Detroit (EEUU) y dio la casualidad de que iba a volar a EEUU; eso debió ser en mayo de 2020.
Pero, la semana que se suponía que iba a ser el vuelo se suspendieron los viajes aéreos por la pandemia y no pude volar. ¡Eso fue un momento realmente estúpido!. ¡Quería volar por primera vez como dj y no pude! Eso me pareció desafortunado y también decepcionante. Pero creo que fue un momento difícil para toda la industria. ¡Para mi fue realmente importante viajar a Estados Unidos y hacer música allí! Cuando miro atrás pienso, ¿fue realmente un problema? Pude evitar vídeos y grabar podcast para un sello de EEUU. ¡Pienso que eso fue genial!
Who are your biggest musical references?
I think that was when I started DJing. I worked with a label from Detroit (USA). And as it happened, the time came when I also flew to the USA, that must have been May 2020.
BUT!!,…The week I was supposed to fly, air travel was suspended due to the pandemic and I couldn’t fly! That was a really stupid time! I wanted to fly out as a DJ for the first time and you couldn’t! I found that really unfortunate and also annoying. But I think it was a tough time for everyone in the industry! For me it was actually a big deal to fly to the US and make music there! When I think back like that! Was that really a big deal! I was able to edit videos and record podcasts for a label from the USA! I thought that was great!!!

¿Conoces la escena Techno de España? ¿Hay diferencias entre Alemania y España en ese sentido?
Voy a responder a esta pregunta con un SI.
Conozco las discotecas y eventos individuales de Ibiza y viajo allí una vez al año. Por supuesto, siempre es algo especial estar en Ibiza en verano: es un momento culmen. Evidentemente muchas cosas han cambiado con el tiempo tanto en España (Ibiza) como en Alemania. Ok, empezaré aquí…mmmm.
Básicamente, creo que muchos países están en la misma posición en lo que respecta a los artistas. En ambos países tienes muchas discotecas y eventos donde puedes ver djs internacionales. No creo que la música sea particularmente diferente: todos tocan el mismo estilo musical dependiendo del evento. Pero creo que la gran diferencia es que en Alemania la gente presta mucha atención a cómo y quién va a un club (Desscode en la puerta).
Atención (secreto): sólo para ti. Una vez entré de contrabando en un evento. Usaba ropa normal para mí (horario de verano). Mientras estaba parado en el bar, me preguntaron si me iba a cambiar. Rápidamente dije que si, bebí rápido y salí del evento. Ok… lo que no sabía es que el evento tenia un desscode (piel, ropa negra). En retrospectiva, me pareció un poco extraño que la gente prestara atención a algo así en un evento electrónico. Quiero decir, el Techno es para todos y realmente no debería importar como me visto (¡igualdad!).
Es curioso ver cómo cambian los acontecimientos. Todo el mundo dice exteriormente »sé quien eres o siéntete libre», pero si vienes a nosotros por favor adáptate o serás excluido. No conozco situaciones similares en España o Ibiza. Estuve en un evento de »Glitterbox» en Space (que en paz descanse). Allí pude disfrutar del evento con ropa normal ¡y nadie me preguntó si tenía pensado cambiarme!
Si alguien me pregunta cuál es la diferencia entre Alemania y España diría que la gente del evento es diferente. En Alemania es más bien una escena que quiere mantenerse reservada y en España es más abierta y está disponible para todos. Esto no debería aplicarse a todos los clubes de Alemania o España, estas solo son mis experiencias.
Do you know about the Techno scene in Spain? Are there differences between Germany and Spain in that sense?
I will answer this question with “YES”.
I know the clubs and individual events in Ibiza and go to Ibiza once a year! Of course, it’s always something special to be in Ibiza in the summer. and it’s always a highlight. Of course, a lot has changed over time, both in Spain (Ibiza) and in Germany. ok,… I’ll start here….mmmmhhhh.
Basically, I think both countries are in the same position when it comes to artists. In both countries you have many clubs or events where you can see international DJs. I don’t think the music is particularly different… they all play the same style of music depending on the event. But I think what’s a big difference is that in Germany people pay a lot of attention to how and who goes to a club. (Dress code on the door).
Attention (secret): only for you. I once smuggled myself into an event. I wore normal clothes for myself (summer time). As I was standing at the bar I was immediately asked if I was going to change?! I quickly said “yes”,… I drank quickly and I leaved the event. Ok,… What I didn’t know that the event had an dresscode,…(Leather, black clthoses). In retrospect, I found it a bit strange that people paid attention to something like that at electronic events. I mean, techno is for everyone and it shouldn’t really matter how I dress (equality)! (funny how events change) Everyone outwardly says “be who you are, or feel free” > but if you come to us > then please adapt or you will be excluded.
I don’t know of such situations in Spain (Ibiza). I was at an event “Glitterbox” event at “Space” (rest in peace). There I was able to enjoy the event with normal clothes. and no one asked me if I was still changing! If someone asked me what the difference is between Germany and Spain, I would say: “The people at the event are different.” In Germany it’s more of a scene that wants to keep to itself and in Spain it’s more open and there for everyone! This shouldn’t apply to all clubs in Germany or Spain… These are just my experiences.

El Techno atraviesa un gran momento a nivel global. ¿Cómo ves la escena actualmente?
Oh, ¡una pregunta emocionante!. Creo que no importa cual sea la opinión sobre esto, ¡Siempre hay alguien que lo ve diferente! ¡Dejaré que mis sentimientos me lleven!.
El Techno se ha convertido en algo normal para mucha gente hoy en día. Y puedes consumirlo en cualquier momento (streaming, redes sociales). Eso me parece un poco problemático, porque polariza a las masas, así que ya no es algo tan especial. Por ejemplo, en una gran ciudad donde hay muchos clubes, ¡antes era genial que hubiera un determinado club donde ponían Techno y siempre era lo más destacado!. Ahora todos los clubes tocan Techno y para mí ya no importa donde vaya. Ya ni siquiera tengo que salir a escuchar Techno. Muchas cosas son retransmitidas y grabadas, ¡eso hace que valga menos la pena salir!. También podría reunirme con amigos en casa y hacer una fiesta Techno. Creo que es una pena que la interacción social esté cambiando como resultado de ello.
Para mí el Techno es como una especie de comunicación. ¡Muchas personas se reúnen en un solo lugar y experimentan algo juntas! ¡Es algo hermoso, algo que recordarás después! También puedes llamarlo exageración. Lo bueno de tanta publicidad es que pasará (la moda del Techno). Creo que cuanto más tiempo consumes algo, antes se acaba el revuelo y la gente se aburre rápidamente y luego quiere algo nuevo otra vez.
Pero para algunos, el Techno será simplemente Techno. Creo que eso es normal en nuestros días, pero si algo es seguro es que los tiempos están cambiando otra vez. ¡Creo que es bueno cuando las cosas cambian y se agregan cosas nuevas!. Es evidente que es un gran momento para el Techno. Tienes a mucha gente que quiere trabajar contigo, eso es algo bueno. No puedo esperar a ver que traerá el tiempo. Estoy emocionado de ver qué vendrá en el futuro y espero tener más entrevistas geniales contigo. ¡Y tal vez nos veamos pronto!.
Techno is going through a great moment globally today. How do you see the scene currently?
OHH,… an exciting question!!! I think it doesn’t matter what for a opinion is on this. There is always someone who sees it differently! I’ll just let my thoughts carry me along!!!
Techno has become something normal for many people today! And today you can consume it at any time (streaming/social media).
I find that a bit problematic, because it polarizes the masses, so it’s no longer something special! As an example,… in a big city that has a lot of clubs,… It was cool before that you always had a certain club where techno was playing and it was always a highlight!!! Now every club plays techno and for me it no longer matters where I go! I don’t even have to go out to listen to techno anymore! A lot of things are streamed and recorded! That makes going out less worth it! I could also meet up with friends at home and have a techno party! I think it’s a shame that social interaction is changing as a result!
For me techno is like a kind of communication. Many people come together in one place and experience something together! something beautiful, something that you will remember later! You can also call it “hype”. The good thing about such hype is that it will pass! I think the longer you consume something, the sooner the hype is over and people quickly get bored again and then want something new again!!!
But for some, techno will just be techno! I think that’s normal in our time… but if one thing is certain, it’s that times are changing again! I think it’s good when things change and new things are added! Of course it’s a great time for techno at the moment! You have a lot of people who want to work with you! That’s something good!

Oh, eso es fácil… Me gustaría continuar trabajando con LM PR Agency en 2024. Actualmente estoy trabajando en encontrar un socio de booking en Europa y a nivel mundial. Y por supuesto, ¡¡continuar produciendo mientras tanto!!.
What goals or objectives would you like to achieve soon in your career?
Oh, that’s easy… I would like to continue working with “LM PR Agency” in 2024. And I’m currently working on… finding a partner for bookings in Europe and Worldwide. And of course continue producing in the meantime. !!!
